Before becoming a company, we were a family.  Joseph Lacourse went to Alaska in 1940.  He worked sharpening saws until 1947, when he returned to Rhode Island.  He continued sharpening saws part time in the basement of his home for a period of 7 years while working as a union carpenter.  In 1955, Joseph along with his son, Raymond, incorporated and expanded to a full time sharpening service in a converted two stall garage.  A decade later, in 1966, the sharpening service was moved to our current location; A new 2500 ft² building on Middle Street Pawtucket, RI.  Since then we have expanded twice, stretching to 6,000 ft²; installing state-of-the-art equipment, the latest in precision grinding technology, to feed the growing demand for quality sharpened cutting tools.  Raymond Lacourse Jr. started in 1979 before his brother Joseph Lacourse took part in the operation in 1988.  As a family, they provide quality service alongside their father, continuing a 55 year old family business.
